Project Love
Project Love was a movement started in January 2010 when a YouTube friend needed immediate help. It took me several hours before I remembered how giving the YouTube community was when I was raising funds for the SouthTube party room. I thought if I opened my store up once again and offered things in exchange for their donations, we could help this person. It was a resounding success. We raised approximately $900 for this person.
At times throughout the year, I let people know during a vlog on YouTube that we are starting up a new project. Every penny that is raised during this period goes toward the fund. I am focusing on a family of seven whose father has become unemployed and it looks like Christmas is not going to be a very fun day...unless we help make it so!! Our last project (Project Chase) raised somewhere in the area of $400 to get Chase outfitted for school. Let's see if we can't top that!

Project Love is actually an extension of something started by H3ady1313 with her Random Acts of Kindness video. Using my "store," I have raised monies to help feed three families over the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays (2009). One family used it to keep their lights on during the winter, another was fortunate enough to have received another free meal so they turned around and gifted another family with the dinner. It is these little touches of kindness that I hope will create a ripple effect.
July: $100 was sent (a very generous donation sent by a YTer) to a family in desperate need of help in terms of medical needs. Thank you!!
4/3/10: Recent contributions have been coming in without asking for it. For that I am eternally grateful. I have been listening and responding to three people's needs, including helping pay for one family's rent.
4/29/10: Money was sent to keep someone's electricity on for a month. We are also working on getting Debbie Z. her wheelchair lift with the help of Jessica from www.pollyspicks.com. Deb has an electric wheelchair, however, insurance would not pay for her to get a lift and hitch to get that wheelchair anywhere. So basically she could ride around her house in it, but nothing else. She could go nowhere. She was house bound.
5/15/10: Bingo was successful!! With the community's effort, we have been successful in obtaining Debbie Z her lift and hitch! Pat yourselves on the back. We now have someone who was previously house bound able to go out into the world to do basic things like grocery shopping now!!
August 2010: We just completed a VERY successful drive to help Chase, H3ady1313's teenaged son, to buy clothing and school supplies. Over $400 in Target and Walmart cards were sent to this point and some cards are still coming in slowly. He also has enough to be able to get outfitted when winter rolls around. THANK YOU!!!
I am going to continue this movement of helping others in need at least several times a year. If you want to send fabric donations to help, lining fabric is always something I am in constant need of. It takes just as much fabric to line a project as it does for the focus fabric. I always try to make them interesting and when I cannot, then I use plain colors. Several of you have sent donations, of which I am highly appreciative! I am always asked how much to send. One yard sections would be perfect and would to a LONG way. So a yard is a very generous donation. Since it is so expensive to send stuff in the mail, make sure to use flat rate envelopes if things weigh over 13 ounces!

Christmas 2010
This is what we all provided a family for Christmas this year. A Christmas that would not have happened without our help. A Christmas dinner was also provided (not pictured). We should all be proud of ourselves for making this happen!
