A few days ago I was chatting to Keiki (yes, I talk to the birds). I asked him where his mother and father were and asked him if he was going to be able to find a mate and if he would bring her "home" to see us. I had a feeling that unless he ventured far, far away from home, he wouldn't find a mate for the spring.
You are not going to believe this, but he brought her home to see me!! At first it was a quick glimpse, as I enjoy watching him eat... well, really I enjoy LISTENING to him eat, as he is always chirping the entire time. Another quick glimpse. I ran to put on my glasses, screaming, "he has a mate, he has a mate!" When I returned with my glasses on, video camera in hand, I was able to just barely capture him feeding her. I am ecstatic. I will post
